I'm starting on a project to educate myself re: GPU computing. I'm assembling a PC (do they still call them that? I'm kind of old...) for this purpose. I have a single GPU, in this case an RTX2080S and an AMD 3700X for CPU duties, with Ubuntu 18 installed on the little SSD. AMD 3700X does not have integrated graphics, so the GPU would also be driving my display. Will that wreak havoc with its compute performance, to be interrupted every 10mS or so to render the next frame? It seems to me that pipelines …
